Humans need to realize that our interests are the planet’s interests
A quick summary of our problems, and a solution.
For a while there has been a disconnect between nature, and human beings. At least more than other animals.
I’m not going to tell you about why you need to go outside more. We don’t have to evolve back into monkeys and rejoin the Jungle Primeval.
But people should understand that while we need Earth, Earth doesn’t really need us. Don’t get me wrong: humans are great, but Earth wouldn’t turn into a barren lifeless world if we left. The Amazon Rainforest would definitely enjoy a break.
According to climate.nasa.gov, Antarctica has lost 151 billion metric tons of ice mass to the heat, causing sea levels to rise. In fact, sea levels have risen 3.8 inches since 1993. For reference, I have placed the links below.
What I hear from Climate Crisis Denialists a lot is, “But we’re in an era of global cooling, not warming!” Really? How? If you look at a graph, you can see the spike in temperature:

Remember the record-high temperatures in Portland, Oregon, when the pavement cracked and people fainted from the 116° heat back in 2021? Or when it reached more than 98° F in a Siberian town? That doesn’t sound like “global cooling.”
And this is not the only issue. Oil is polluting the Earth’s oceans. Steven Donzinger prosecuted Chevron to court after they polluted a native river, causing people in the area to develop cancer. Donzinger beat Chevron, but was put in prison on charges of… successfully suing Chevron. Donzinger has been going between prison and house arrest for months on nonsense charges.
In the Amazon, logging is causing animals to die of starvation. And since many of the companies just leave the piles of twigs, it creates the perfect place for wildfires to flourish, which then burn down even more forest.
Humans need to come to their senses and finally realize that what they are doing is destructive to the environment. We are dependent on the environment for food, water, and clean air. Let’s give Mother Nature a break. And the answer is not yelling at people for using plastic straws.
Here is the solution:
Use the means of production we have to convert to solar power. And don’t say “by 2050” at the end.
Starting conservations, and supporting farmers near forests so they aren’t forced to cut down trees.
Force fossil fuel companies to enforce safety guidelines at their sites.
Enforce mild carbon taxes on large corporations to pressure them further.
Create a clean mass transit/rail system so people won’t need to get on cars or planes as much.
Regulate plane fuel, some of which still has toxic materials, such as lead, in it.
And there are many more, all of which I will talk about in other posts.
